Progress on the House

From this ......
to this.

While it doesn't look like a big change it represents a lot of work!

The front porch has been reconstructed and reroofed. It is looking very crisp and clean. The Tyvek is on and the ceiling is in complete with 7 recessed lights. It is all taking shape. Tyvek is on most of the rest of the house as well and work has commenced on the back part of the house where there is a little more to be done.
The part of the back porch that was enclosed and used as a "mudroom" is now gone, along with the rest of that porch. A foundation will be constructed and an addition onto the bathroom is planned. Then the porch will be reconstructed, bigger than the old one to give some sittin' room out there.
Our workers have been blessed with the addition of a new (to them) used ummm, I don't know what it's called...I think Jon said a "Material Handler". It's been a real blessing as they have had that old slate roof to take off, shingles to put on, and the other tasks that require heavy duty work off the ground. That big bucket thing was constructed after the crew brought it home, and has been a good addition to it making the machine quite versatile and able to do more than just move heavy objects. It has made the moving of those shingles, OSB and other large and awkward objects up to the second story much easier, and safer.

Looking good. very good. Hubby and I will come down and sit on that front porch with you. The white siding looks good too.

Hi, Daisy Red Hat,

Nancy from Nancy Today on youtube wanted me to pass this message along:

"Also, I replied to daisy red hat's entry about her canned banana bread. I don't think it posted, though. Can you tell her I copied and pasted it to my blog at livejournal and also will make videos of the process on nancytoday? Thanks so much"
