What changes more than Michigan weather?

OUR MINDS!!!! We change our minds more than the weather changes in our fair state of Michigan. Oh my.

We have gone from an elaborate major house remodel, with a much larger basement being dug, to no house remodel, but a larger basement being dug, to a smaller basement being dug, to ....

TA DA. You guessed it. NO basement being dug. Thinking the basement is big enough. Everyone that has come to look at the basement says it's in good shape. We are only 2 people here, why do we need a bigger house? Talked ourselves out of a geothermal heat pump. Pretty pricey. We are blessed with a big farm house. Many families larger than ours manage in smaller space, we can too.

So the House Project is: the things that need to be done...roofing, siding, replacing porches, updating the bathroom (the sink is leaking more and more by the day, so it needs attention, changing the bath tub is my want). I would like a bathroom upstairs, but that's not a must.

The Summer Kitchen has given us the thought that we would do better with the resources available putting up a pole barn and making use of that space rather than making a basement.

We need space for cold storage, and the basement isn't really very practical for that. We'll think on this awhile, but already I have more peace about it...if the expense isn't going to be too great.

We are now praying for wisdom on this issue as we turn the House Project into The Barn/a little bit of a House Project.

Is your head spinning? Ours are. But that's OK. I'd rather have a whole lot of things changing and moving around now rather than going ahead with only a little rest we are moving in the right direction. And then find out later we are not at all satisfied with the final outcome. Or that it doesn't meet the identified need.
